CRYO-PEX COecological disinfestation plants

The CRYO-PEX plant uses non-toxic CO2 to combat all types of pest without leaving residue of poison on food or damaging the products or packing’s.

All organic products and commodities with low water content can be disinfected using this process: tea, coffee, herbs, spices, dried fruit, tobacco or all kind of cereals.

The CRYO-PEX plant is available with 1, 2 or multiple high pressure autoclaves. The goods to be treated are usually packed on pallets which can be insert easily into the autoclaves. After flushing the air inside the autoclave is pressurized up to 30 bar with CO2. The treatment time varies depending on the type of pest. After treatment is finished the autoclave is depressurized within short time. Prior opening air is flushed into the autoclave. We recommend a tandem CRYO-PEX plant with two autoclaves to save approx. 45% of the CO2 via pressure equalisation.

The CRYOSERV Dry Ice recovery units type CRYO-DRYREC are engineered to recovery revert gas from all kind of dry ice machines, which is normally flashed directly into atmosphere. By using the recovery unit production cost of industrial dry ice manufactures can be reduced drastically.

Decompressing deep cold, liquefied CO2 generates about 40-45% of Dry Ice and 60-55% of gaseous CO2 which is usually vented to atmosphere as a waste product. The CO2 recovery system compresses and liquefies the CO2 revert gas and raises the conversion rate enormously to 90-95% overall performance.

CRYOSERV’s stack gas recovery systems type “STACKREC” offers energy savings up to 45%, reduced cost and protects the environment. This innovative type of plant meets high grade CO2 quality requirements and fulfils the ISBT specification.

The process is based on absorption of CO2 out of CO2-rich stack gases into an aqueous Monoethanolamine Solution (MEA sol.). The solvent MEA is heated up by a steam heated re-boiler or an internal burner system to desorb the CO2 gas. After the following process steps of compression, purification and liquefaction the CO2quality will meet international specifications for food grade CO2.

CO2 generation plants burn fossil fuels like diesel oil, kerosene or natural gas to produce food grade, liquid CO2 qualities according to ISBT standards. If there is no other raw gas source for CO2 available, this type of plant is the reliable solution.

The process is an absorption of the CO2 out of the flue gas into an aqueous Monoethanolamine (MEA) solution. The desorption process uses the heat generated by burning the fossil fuel.

The CO2 is compressed, purified, dried and liquefied to ensure the food grade quality according international standards.
